Truth About Government Shutdown [sic]

The new media and politicians rant and rave day after day about the looming government shutdown. This is in fact ONLY the federal government, not the State or local governments. Do not let these self serving politicians and media types brainwash you into hysteria.

Lets look at what this really means, starting with the 2017 budget.

Revenue = money given to the government, for the most part given by you the tax payers. For the 2017 Budget: $3.21 Trillion, that is: $3,210,000,000,000.00.

Expenditures = This is what the government actually spends. For the 2017 Budget: $3.65 Trillion, that is $3,650,000,000,000.00.

Deficit = This is the amount the government spends beyond the revenue (taxes) given to it. This amount is BORROWED by various means. For the 2017 Budget: $443 Billion, that is $443,000,000,000.00. In round numbers let's say $1.4 Billion per day on the average.

The issue called a "Government Shutdown" is the expiration of borrowing authority to increase the national debt.It is not a termination of the activities of the government, it is the end of the authority to BORROW more money. It does NOT affect the $3,210,000,000,000.00 that you pay in taxes!

Only in Washington District of Corruption and the self serving media could - not being able to borrow more money be called a shutdown of the government.

It is NOT a shutdown of government, it is a shutdown of their irresponsible spending and borrowing habits! The worst that would happen if we had a permanent shutdown would be a balanced budget! Even if they shutdown we would still have $3,210,000,000,000.00 worth of government and that is too much!
